OKLAHOMA CITY — Authorities in Oklahoma arrested an Arizona man, saying they found marijuana hidden under a baby in his vehicle.
Marijuana could be see hidden in the car seat, weighing about half a pound, and a five-month-old that only weighed a few pounds more, was supposed to conceal it.
“It’s pretty gut-wrenching whenever you see children involved in such heinous crimes,” said Agent Mike Arnold with the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics, who made the discovery.
He says he pulled Andrew Charles Wyatt, Jr. over for speeding on I-40 through Canadian county this morning – and that’s when he smelled the pot.
Arnold says everyone in the car tried to deny it at first, but Arnold and his K-9 “Scout” have been doing this so long, they knew they couldn’t even overlook a child.
“Whenever you pull over a car that has children in it, you just hope there’s nothing in that car. And then when you do come across it you go through a roller-coaster of emotions,” said Arnold.
Wyatt was arrested and the child’s mother retained custody of the baby.
