KANSAS CITY, Mo. — While the fans moved in, there are some who’ve already claimed their spot outside of “The K.”

Shane Robertson and his son, Bryce, are people watching, keeping an eye out for anyone who looks like a Royal.

“You want to be respectful; you don’t want to ask ‘who are you? Can you sign?’ Just go ask for an autograph and figure it out later if you’re not sure,” said Shane.

Shane was 13 years old when the Royals won in 1985 and this year, Bryce is also 13 years old. So Shane is hoping for another Royals repeat.  That’s why he plucked his son out of school for a day at Kauffman Stadium.

“It’s been 29 years it may be another 29 more. Hopefully not, but it could be,” said Shane.

Their stake out began at 8:30 Monday morning, nearly three hours before the rally. But it was just enough time to catch the players for a quick signature or to just watch them roll by.

“Signatures mean you actually met them and like, you met the big players,” Bryce said.

Shane bought two Royals pennants on the clearance rack for 50 cents each. Now, with the added signatures, they’re priceless.
