KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A man surrendered to police at about 4:40 a.m. Friday, after a standoff that lasted more than three hours.

The man’s roommate told police that during an argument, his roommate grabbed a knife and cut his arm. Police went to the house in the 3700 block of Warwick, but the roommate refused to come out.

Police shut down Warwick between 36th and 39th streets while they tried to talk the roommate out, and eventually, after police got his brother to text and talk to him on the phone,  he surrendered.

Police said the two roommates have a history of fighting. Police spokesman Darin Snapp said recently they arrested the victim in this incident for assault on the roommate.

Charges are expected later on Friday.
