KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Two firefighters were injured as they battled a house fire in Kansas City, Kansas, on Monday morning.
According to authorities, fire crews were battling a blaze at a home in the 3000 block of North 43rd Street shortly before 10:00 a.m. when one firefighter fell and injured his back and another fell and injured his knee.
Both were taken to an area hospital, where their injuries as listed as non-life threatening.
Authorities say that a child woke up his mother in the on Monday morning and told her that he smelled smoke. Both escaped without injury, and are being assisted by the Red Cross.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
