KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Flu season is upon us, and that means it’s time to get a flu shot.
There will be several opportunities to get a free flu shot across the metro on Saturday.
St. Luke’s East Hospital in Lee’s Summit will be holding a free drive-thru flu shot clinic for ages 12 and up on Saturday in the front parking lot of their facility at 100 N.E. Saint Luke’s Blvd. (I-470 and Douglas Road). The shots will be available starting at 8:00 a.m. and lasting until supplies last.
Overland Park Regional Medical Center will be offering free flu shots for ages 10 and up in their main lobby at 10500 Quivira Road, Overland Park. That event will begin at 8:00 a.m. and will go until supplies run out.
The Ian’s Rainbow Flu Foundation will be holding their 6th annual Walking to Fight the Flu event on Saturday at the Macken Park Festival Pavillion located at 800 Clark Ferguson Drive in North Kansas City. Walking to Fight the Flu is a fun family oriented event featuring clowns, face painting, and live music, and will raise funds for the Ian’s Rainbow Flu Foundation, which was founded in memory of Ian Joseph Moise. Ian died of complications from Influenza A on December 17, 2003. Free flu shots will be available for children under the age of 18.
