QUAD CITIES, Ill. — Twenty eight-year-old blogger Brooke Birmingham, who has documented her 170 lb. weight loss for years on her blog, “Brooke: Not On a Diet,” has recently gained a lot of attention after she wrote and posted online about her negative experience with a reporter working as an agent for a popular fitness magazine. Now due to all of the attention, it looks as if things will end up working out in her favor.

After Birmingham’s blog post went viral, her plight gained the attention of the Editor-at-Large at Shape, Bahar Takhtehchian, who offered this statement on the TODAY show.

“It was a miscommunication with a freelancer, who’s not employed by Shape. Unfortunately she said that there was an editorial policy that simply doesn’t exist. So that’s where things went awry a little bit,” said Takhtehchian.

“We’re going to take this and we’re going to feature Brook and five other real women inside the pages of Shape Magazine and we want to start a larger discussion about what happens after you lose a significant amount of weight.”

Birmingham was seen beaming as she sat next to Takhtehchian during the show.
