BONNER SPRINGS, Kan. — Friends and family of 26-year-old Jamie Frecks came together for a motorcycle ride fundraiser Saturday to remember the mother whose life was tragically cut short.

Frecks died May 4 after falling off a party bus and was struck by multiple cars. Her best friend Lisa Marie Delaney watched it happen.

“I wish I could have helped her, but I couldn’t, so doing this at least it’s helping her family and helping the ones she loves very much,” Delaney told FOX 4 News.

Freck’s left behind her fiancee and two-month-old baby Emma.

Delaney came up with the idea for “Emma’s Angel Ride”, which will raise money for the surviving family members, specifically to care for Emma. It was held at Kobi’s Bar and Grill in Bonner Springs.

“I’m very thankful,” said Freck’s fiancee Eric Shields. “Words can’t express the support I’m getting. If it wasn’t for everything and the support I’ve been getting, I don’t know what I would be doing right now, honestly.”

The money will be used for everything from buying diapers for Emma to starting up a college fund.

Shields said he’s blown away by everyone’s generosity.

“Friends and family is expected, but people that don’t even really know us.  It means a lot. It’s nice to see people come together like that. I know she’d be smiling,” he said.

Freck’s family set up a fund for baby Emma for those who couldn’t make the fundraiser and want to donate.
