KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Fifty people were evacuated from their homes Monday morning for about 20 minutes due to a gas leak at an apartment complex in Kansas City, Mo.
Missouri Gas and Energy said they were called to the Waldo Heights apartment complex at 80th & Campbell around 1 a.m. Residents were evacuated as a safety precaution. They were let back inside their homes at 1:45 a.m.
MGE said there was some natural gas furnaces and boilers that weren’t working properly, so they had to be turned off for safety reasons. The building manager and city will have to evaluate what needs to be repaired.
