INDEPENDENCE, Mo. — A 3 inch gas line ruptured at an Independence motel Tuesday evening forcing guests to evacuate.
It happened around 6:30 p.m. at the Quality Inn, 4200 S. Noland Rd., near Interstate 70.
There were no immediate reports of injuries.
About 50 guests were evacuated. It’s unknown when they could be allowed to return to their rooms.
MGE was on the scene to do repairs.
