KANSAS CITY, Kan. — People in the 2700 block of North 21st Street in Kansas City, Kan. were evacuated Thursday morning because of a gas leak.
Authorities described the line leaking as a ‘large gas main.’ The line has been capped with a temporary cap and gas crews were checking readings before allowing people back into their homes. About a dozen homes were evacuated.
A backhoe operator digging in front of a home in that area apparently struck the line.
