KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Twelve people were evacuated Wednesday morning in Kansas City, Kan., after police detected a gas odor in the area of 33rd and Orville.

Firefighters and the gas company were on the scene and had pinpointed high levels of natural gas to a section of ground there.

Gas service crews confirmed a leak in an eight-inch line. Firefighters remained at the scene as repairs were made.

No injuries were reported.
