TACONY, Pa. — Annabelle wanted a frozen treat, so she headed down to the local convenience store to get herself a Slushie.
The problem is that Annabelle is 4-years-old, and it was 3:00 in the morning.
According to WPVI-TV in Philadelphia, a good Samaritan flagged down a Philadelphia city bus and told the driver about the little girl wearing a purple coat and snow boots he found wandering down a city street early Friday morning.
“Got to be kidding me! At this time, at 3 o’clock on the morning,” driver Harlan Jenifer told WPVI. “She’s a small little thing. It kind of just shocked me.”
“All I want is a slushie, that’s all she said!” said Jenifer.
The police were called, and the girl was back home with her parents within an hour. Her parents say that they’ve changed their locks to keep it from happening again.
“My mind is wanting to go places, it’s hard not to,” said Annabelle’s father, Tim Ridgeway. He told WPVI that it was too easy to imagine how differently Annabelle’s Slushie adventure could have turned out.
“Thank God for the bus driver,” said Ridgeway.
