KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police were working two crime scenes Tuesday afternoon in separate shootings in Kansas City, Mo.
One was at 47th St. and Cleveland; the other was reported a few minutes later at Thompson and Oakley, where a woman was found dead next to her car.
It does not appear the shootings are related. FOX 4’s Shannon O’Brien reported from the scene that the shooting happened when neighborhood children were coming home from school.
“That obviously was not taken into account. This is a residential area with schools nearby and that was not considered and that’s terrible,” said Sgt. Kari Thompson with KCPD.
Police hadn’t released full details about the victim or any possible suspects on Tuesday night. FOX 4 will continue to follow developments and release more information as it is confirmed.
