TOPEKA, Kan. — Kansas Housing Resources Corporation (KHRC) is working with several agencies to speed assistance to Harveyville residents displaced by the February 28th tornado that damaged or destroyed approximately 70 homes. KHRC has produced a “Harveyville Housing Resources Guide,” which highlights assistance from public and private organizations that are responding to the immediate and long-term housing needs of the community.

Programs available to help residents seeking immediate housing include those which offer homelessness prevention, rental, emergency loan, moving cost and credit counseling assistance. Programs providing long-term housing assistance can help repair and rehabilitate owner-occupied homes, fund new home construction and offer down payment, closing cost and mortgage loan assistance for first-time homebuyers. Applicants for the programs listed in the guide must meet income guidelines.
