SUGAR CREEK, Mo. — Missouri Highway Patrol Marine Operations troopers are searching for a person presumed drown in the Missouri River near LaBenite Park and MO Highway 291. The incident was reported at 7 a.m. on Saturday morning.

Authorities have not identified whether the person was a man or woman. This would be the third drowning in a just over a week’s time. Brett Baslee drowned in Longview Lake on June14, Kalan Littlefield drowned at a private residence in rural Cass County on June 15.
