SURPRISE, Ariz. — Kansas City Royals starter Luke Hochevar has been moved to the bullpen, manager Ned Yost announced Wednesday morning.

Hochevar is no longer in the running for the No. 5 starter spot. Likely candidates include Bruce Chen, Luis Mendoza, Will Smith, and Yordano Ventura according to kcroyals.com.

A member of the starting rotation since 2008, Hochevar had a dismal 2012 campaign, as he went 8-16 with a 5.73 ERA. In eight innings this Spring, Hochevar posted a 6.75 ERA.
