KANSAS CITY, Mo. —  Sea Life Aquarium and LEGOLAND Discovery center plans to open in early spring. The venue is looking for some energetic people to accommodate the thousands of visitors they expect to see.

About 300 job seekers packed the Westin Crown Center on Sunday hoping to get one of the 125 jobs available at both attractions. The venues are hiring for both full and part time jobs.

“I have about 10 years in customer service I love working with people, hands on selling stuff, I’m a good retail person,” said applicant Sara Haushahn.

Mendy Rose, the marketing manager for the venue says Seal Life and LEGOLAND expects to entertain thousands of school kids and they would like educators who have a passion for teaching, LEGOS and the ocean to come aboard.

“We are definitely looking for people to bring our attractions to life,” Rose said.

There’s an interactive exercise where applicants actually play with LEGOS to make sure they hire the people with the right skills and enthusiasm.

“We go through a couple phases of interviewing so we ask that you do be patient with us,” Rose said. “We want to make sure it’s a great fit for everyone involved, so there’s a screening process and also some group interaction that’s a little bit unique to other job fairs.”

If you missed the job fair on Sunday, it will continue on Monday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. the Westin Crown Center Hotel.
