JOHNSON COUNTY, Kan. — A concrete pavement repair and resurfacing project began Monday on a 2.5-mile stretch of northbound and southbound I-435 from 95th Street to Midland Drive, including the I-435 interchange ramps at 87th Street and Midland Drive in Lenexa and Shawnee (Johnson County).

Work will take place overnight beginning at 7 p.m. and reopening to all traffic at 5:30 a.m. Monday through Friday, and then again between 7 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m. the following Saturday, with some occasional off peak daytime work Monday through Friday.

Traffic will be impacted

Traffic impacts include the closure of two lanes each direction on I-435 during the project working hours throughout the project duration. Advance message boards will alert drivers to the lane and ramp closures, the Kansas Department of Transportation said.
