INDEPENDENCE, Mo. — Police in Independence, Mo., are reopening three cases from 2012 involving a man suspected of trying to lure boys into his car by offering them money or marijuana in exchange for sex.
In February 2012, prosecutors charged Norman Davis, 54, with attempted forcible sodomy, attempted statutory sodomy and sexual misconduct with a child. Those charges were subsequently dropped due lack of evidence. However, police said three cases are being reopened and charges may be filed again against Davis.
More recently, in February 2014, police arrested Davis in a sting operation where he is suspected of attempting to meet up with a 15-year-old boy he was accused of raping just two weeks prior. According to court documents, Davis had exchanged text messages with the teen, and on Jan. 25, 2014, Davis picked up the boy at his parents’ home in Cass County, raped him and told him not to tell anyone.
