LAWRENCE, Kan. – A drug seizure of nearly $1 million worth of methamphetamine, cocaine and cash was seized by authorities in Douglas County last week. Investigators with both the Lawrence Police Department and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office reported that they don’t believe the drugs were locally produced and may have come from Mexico.

Officers also seized a 9 millimeter handgun during the investigation. No information has been released about suspects or arrests due to it being an ongoing investigation. The case and evidence will be turned over to federal agents eventually.
