Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles went down in practice Monday morning and upon hearing of it, Chiefs fans are shaking their heads and eager for more information.
FOX 4’s Al Wallace reports that Charles was not hit by another player, but appeared to have lost his footing. He wasn’t on the ground long, got up under his own power, and left the field – walking across the field, 30-40 yards.
He left the field and went to a medical tent. After a small amount of time in the tent, he appeared to try to run on the leg or foot or ankle, of whatever part of the lower extremity he seemed to injure. He seemed unable to return to practice. He was then ‘carted’ up a hill to the training facility.
Al says, “Keep in mind: The ‘hill’ that leads up to the training facility is about 150 yards, and steep. Very often, players ride the carts up the hill after practice, to avoid having to walk it. 95% of the time, head coach Andy Reid elects to take a cart up the hill.”
So…the advice of some tweeters might be wise. Don’t panic! Early reports are that the x-rays were negative and it looks like only a foot strain.
Don’t panic (yet) on Jamaal Charles. Update shortly.
