KANSAS CITY, Mo. — JJ’s Restaurant owner Jimmy Frantze talked to investigators on Thursday, as they continued their investigation into the February explosion.
Frantze told FOX 4 that investigators indicated that Thursday would be the last day they would be on site for the investigation.
He said some restaurant employees planned to start cleaning up the area on Friday, once investigators finished.
Sadly, Frantze also said investigators found Megan Cramer’s purse on Tuesday. Megan worked at the restaurant and was killed in the fire and explosion.
“It’s going to take a long time time to get through this, so uh, it’s a life changing trauma that took place for everybody that was involved, not just me because I own the business, but everybody that worked here. We were all part of this, some of my staff have been with more over 25 years, so you know it makes us family,” Frantze said.
Frantze said he’s been doing a lot of soul-searching, thinking about the future, but trying to not dwell on it. He said there are a lot of decisions to make, but he’s not going to rush them. He looks for the positive.
“The one gentlemen who was burned the worst is doing better than they thought he was going to, which is just tremendous news, so there are those positive aspects to it,” he said.
