OLATHE, Kan. — The biggest parade in the state of Kansas is held every year in Olathe. Saturday morning the Johnson County Old Settlers Parade drew an estimated 70,000 people.
The three day event features the parade, a carnival, concerts, street vendors, food and fun! Olathe resident Cheri Moore says it’s an event her family never misses.
“Very much a tradition. The first weekend after labor day we always know where we’re going to be,” she said.
Johnson County Old Settlers Days is a tradition that started back in 1898. It’s been growing ever since.
“60 to 75,000 people here it brings a lot of support to the community and Olathe and we’re very proud to be living in Olathe,” said Olathe resident Maggie Shake.
FOX 4’s very own Loren Halifax and Nick Vasos got to ride in the parade that featured more than a hundred entries. Saturday is the last day of the event until next year.
