TOPEKA, Kan. — Kansas celebrated 153 years as a united state on Wednesday at the newly restored state capitol building in Topeka.
The dedication ceremony began in the first-floor rotunda, where Gov. Sam Brownback, along with FOX 4 anchor John Holt, led the festivities, which also included re-enactors, historic crafts and musicians, storytellers, and cake, of course.
Leaders then opened the capitol building to tours.
