KANSAS CITY, Mo. — U.S. Congressman Kevin Yoder (R-Kansas) apologized over the weekend after news surfaced that the representative went skinny dipping in the Sea of Galilee a year ago.
Politico reported the story on its website Sunday, and said the FBI investigated the trip to the Middle East. Other lawmakers and their staff and spouses were also there.
The report said that a group, after drinking alcohol, decided to swim in the Sea of Galilee.
Rep. Yoder released a statement of regret to Politico.
“After dinner I followed some members of Congress in a spontaneous very brief dive into the sea and regrettably I jumped into the water without a swimsuit,” Yoder said.
