KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Firefighters have evacuated several home due to a possible gas main break in the area of 764 Gilmore in Kansas City, Kan. on Tuesday.
Shortly after 2 p.m. KCK firefighters evacuated every structure within 150 feet diameter of the address, which included at least seven homes.
According to the KCK Fire Department someone had reported an odor of natural gas. Kansas Gas Services went to the location to test the air quality. As a result of the test, buildings and homes in the surrounding area were notified and evacuated.
The KCK Fire Department does not believe the leak was a result of local construction that was taking place in the area.
