KANSAS CITY, Kan. — A 15-year-old boy is recovering in the hospital after he was shot in the back Wednesday afternoon while riding a mini-motorcycle
Officers say the boy was walking through the neighborhood in the area of Pacific and Ferree when someone shot him in the back. Nuns from Little Sisters of the Lamb Convent came to the teen’s rescue.
“They came out and assisted him,” said Rose Hammes with the Archdiocese of Kansas City, Kansas. “It’s my understanding they helped stop the bleeding and comforted him until the ambulance arrived.”
One teen was taken into police custody at the time of the shooting, but he is not being called a suspect at this time.
The victim’s name has not been released. The teen is in stable condition. He is expected to survive.
