KANSAS CITY, Mo. — It’s no secret that there is a sizable gang presence in Kansas City. But many people may not realize that there is a specialized police unit designed to deal with them – and that unit is about to get a lot bigger.
The Kansas City Police Department says that they are doubling the size of the gang unit from seven detectives to 14.
“Having that many more detectives out there to interrupt what they do and put more people in jail will certainly be a benefit,” said KCPD Capt. Steve Young.
