KEARNEY, Mo. — A Kearney father celebrated his son’s first birthday while serving in Afghanistan.
Adam Rulon and his twin brother Jonathan are both serving in different parts of Afghanistan.
On Saturday, Jonathan and Adam met in Kandahar to celebrate the first birthday of Adam’s son, Jackson.
Loved ones back home didn’t know they’d see both uncle and dad.
With the help of technology they watched Jackson unwrap presents and sang their happy birthdays.
Adam is expected to finish his tour and return home to Kearney in April or May.
