NEW ORLEANS, La. — The Kentucky Wildcats are the 2012 NCAA Champs. The Wildcats clenched the title with a 67-59  win over the Kansas Jayhawks.

KU’s Tyshawn Taylor scored the first points of the game. After that, Kentucky went on a 6-0 run. Kentucky maintained a healthy lead until KU’s Thomas Robinson and Tyshawn Taylor scored within a minute of half time. Kentucky led Kansas 41-27 at the half.

Kentucky continued to lead Kansas in the second half. KU’s Thomas Robinson was able to close the gap to five points with about 1:37 left in the second half. In the end, KU fouled with 54 seconds left in the game and Kentucky was able hold off KU with a final score of  67-59.
