TOPEKA, Kan. — Heroes come in all sizes — and ages. One only needs to look at two Topeka children to see know this is true.

According to cjonline.com, Josias and Crystal Canul, ages 11 and 6, saved the life of a 2-year-old child they saw drowning in their apartment complex’s swimming pool.

According to reports, when the siblings saw the toddler drowning, 6-year-old Crystal jumped in — wearing street clothes — to rescue her. Her brother Josias helped pull the child out of the water to safety.

“I’m confident she would have been dead,” said Topeka Police Sgt. Steve Roth.

Police investigated the incident and said it was an unfortunate accident and released the child back into the parents’ care after medical personnel deemed the toddler to be okay.
