OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — Military veterans in the Kansas City metro area got a big boost Thursday night thanks to a couple of members of the legendary rock and roll band KISS.

Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley opened a new restaurant in Overland Park called Rock and Brews. It was packed all day with customers helping raise money for the Kansas City VA Medical Center’s adaptive sports program.

Thursday night 400 people enjoyed the red carpet treatment and learned first-hand why Simmons and Stanley like to help others.
“You know what you’re capable of, there’s always somebody in need. We make the world a better place by giving to other people and it makes us feel good too,” Stanley said.

The Rock and Brews location will be kid and dog friendly.
