LAWERENCE, Kan. — T-shirt stores in Lawrence say it’s a great time to be in the t-shirt business. The owner of Jayhawk Spirit describes KU’s appearance in the National Championship as a second Christmas for him.

The Final Four run brought in an extra $20,000 sales, so far. He’s one of many stores seeing a boost in sales. He says business will also be crazy if KU wins Monday night.

A victory will not mean an excused absence for students. The KU administration says classes will not be canceled no matter what. FOX 4 asked a student if he plans to attend classes if there is an all night celebration.

“Oh, that’s a tough decision,” said student Griffin Ashley. “I personally might not make it. My classes might be canceled.”

No matter what happens on Monday night, Lawrence Police are hoping for another peaceful crowd like Saturday night after the Ohio State victory. The department of 147 officers will have help from surrounding agencies so there will be 250 cops downtown Monday night for a crowd that may boast 50,000. If KU wins, downtown  streets will be blocked off to drivers.
