LIBERTY, Mo. — Friends are still in shock after the death of a 17-year-old Liberty High School student of a drug and alcohol overdose.
Quentin Underhill died on December 29th after apparently overdosing at a party, according to police.
“Really the funniest guy I ever met like hands down class clown,” said classmate Amy Hartgrove.
Hartgrove and Underhill first became friends while in middle school. By the time both got to Liberty High School they shared so many classes and fun times.
“I miss him a lot. I miss his smile and how he used to make me laugh and stuff like everyday he would make me laugh,” Hartgrove told FOX 4 on Thursday.
Underhill was a popular member of his school’s wrestling team. Friends say he loved making people laugh, he admired his twin brother and cherished his family.
“I don’t want people to remember the mistake that he did. I hope teenagers look at this and not just forget about it. They need to learn from it and you know you shouldn’t be doing stuff like this,” says Hartgrove.
As for the investigation, one teen was cited in juvenile court for possession of alcohol. A spokesman for the Clay County Juvenile Court says investigators will interview the boy and his parents within two weeks and then decide if charges will be filed in the case or not.
