LIBERTY, Mo. — A former employee of the Liberty School District is suing the district and several top administrators including Superintendent Mike Brewer. The basis of the lawsuit claims age and gender discrimination and retaliation.

In the lawsuit filed in Clay County Court on March 12th, Kirsten Nabholz claims the district passed her over for training, which was given to a younger employee. Nabholz also alleges she later faced retaliation for bringing it up to administrators. The suit names Superintendent Mike Brewer and Assistant Superintendent Dr. Robert Vogelaar.

The district released this statement to FOX 4, “It is not the District’s normal practice to comment on any pending litigation. Thus, we are unable to provide any specific comments on this matter at this time. However, because of the nature of the allegations, we want to assure our patrons that the District is committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all employees.”
