CLEVELAND — The Cleveland man who is being hailed a hero for coming to the rescue of Amanda Berry, missing for ten years, said he’s having trouble sleeping now.

Charles Ramsey said knowing that he lived near the captive women for a year has left him troubled.

He says if neighbors had known what was going on, they would have taken matters into their own hands against the suspect.

“If we had known about this you would have never got that call. It would just be some coroners coming putting a white sheet over somebody. And we’d have went on with our life. ‘Cause we’d have handled that bro,” Ramsey said.

Ramsey called 911 to report how he’d helped Berry escape.
