KANSAS CITY, Mo. — It got a lot easier to spot the location of a local coffee maker’s production plant on Tuesday – it’s the only building in the area with a vintage airliner on the roof.

On Tuesday morning, crews lifted an old DC-3 aircraft atop the roof of The Roasterie’s facility near 27th Street and Southwest Boulevard.

The company’s logo is a silver and black DC-3.

The classic 1940’s-era aircraft – the company says that the engines have been removed and will be used as the bases of desks in the coffee company’s new showroom –  is visible from nearby I-35, office buildings and other vantage points near Downtown KC.
