MISSION, Kan. – On Monday a woman whose family was rescued from Vietnam served breakfast to local veterans, and said it was the least she could do after what they have done for her and her family.
Alina Hang was very emotional when she talked about the veterans. They have a special place in her heart since she believes if it wasn’t for them, her family may not have survived in Vietnam.
“It brings me joy. It’s an honor to serve them because they served us,” Hang said. “It’s a dream come true.”
Local Hy-Vee stores served over 800 breakfasts to veterans on Monday.
