LOUISBURG, Kan. — Authorities say that a woman was killed in an injury accident on K-68 just west of Louisburg on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Miami County Sherrif’s Department, a 2007 Ford Escape SUV was stopped in the westbound lane of K-68 around 3:45 p.m. with several other vehicles behind a school bus which was letting off children at a bus-stop. A 2005 Ford F-150 pickup truck was traveling west on K-68 when it collided into the rear of the Escape.

The driver of the Escape, identified as 67-year-old Glenda Beasley of Louisburg, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck, 23-year-old Todd Brandt of Osawatomie, was treated for minor injuries and released at the scene.

There were no other injuries or vehicles damaged in the accident, which remains under investigation.
