SPRING HILL, Kan. – A man, suspected of shooting someone, was taken into police custody after his friend approached deputies in the sheriff’s office parking lot.

On Saturday around 1:30 p.m., an individual went up to the deputies and claimed his friend had shot someone.  The alleged suspect, who was also in the car and was later identified by police as 52-year-old Mark Taylor, was checked and found to have warrants out of Johnson County Kansas.  During the arrest, it was discovered that Taylor had a handgun in his possession.  He was then taken into custody.

Deputies responded to a residence located at 21914 W. 220th Street, in rural Spring Hill, Kansas.  Inside was 56 year-old Larry Rangel, who police say was Taylor’s roommate at the residence, found dead of a possible gunshot.

The cause of the shooting is still under investigation.
