CLAY COUNTY, Mo. — Liberty police arrested a man they say killed a man and then set his body on fire. Officers arrested Malcolm Bentley in St. Louis for killing Darron Washington back in early February. Bentley has been charged with first-degree murder, first-degree arson and armed criminal action.

Prosecutors found Washington’s stolen car in St. Louis shorty after finding his body on fire outside his apartment building in the 200 block of Wilshire Boulevard on February 10.

Liberty police traveled to St. Louis and worked closely with police in the city, leading to Bentley’s arrest on an unrelated parole violation.

Bentley is in jail in St. Louis until he can be extradited back to Clay County to face his charges. His total bond is set at $1 million.
