OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — Police have a man in custody who is suspected in the Sept. 20th drive-by-shooting that injured an 8-year-old boy in Overland Park, Kan.

Sources told FOX 4 News that Phillip Ricardo Bennett, 27, of Kansas City, Kan., was charged with aggravated battery in connection with the crime.

Police would not confirm the charges, however they said Bennett was the man they were seeking in connection to the shooting. Bennett’s bond has been set at $100,000 cash.

The shooting happened just before midnight on Sept. 30. The boy was inside his home with his mother and two other children who were not injured. The boy has since returned to school.
