KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A 67-year-old man was charged Thursday in Jackson County with possession of child pornography.
John Bush faces the charges after Kansas City, Mo. police received information from a detective with the Nixa, Mo. Police Dept. that Bush had given him downloads of child pornography.
According to police, the Nixa detective was working undercover to find those who share child pornography in a file sharing program that allows people to share and download files from others on the network.
The detective told police that he downloaded an approximately two-minute video file showing an apparent underaged girl in a number of sexual positions with a man. After subpoenaing the IP address, the detective discovered it belonged to John Bush’s house address, according to the probable cause report.
Police received a search warrant and Bush explained he accidentally downloaded child pornography while he was viewing adult videos through the file-sharing download program.
Bush’s computers and media were seized. A forensics exam found six videos and five pictures of suspected child pornography on the computers and a disk.
