WICHITA, Kan. — A Wichita man is facing possible child endangerment charges after a five-year-old boy was shot in the head with a gun on Sunday.

Investigators said the man left an air-rifle on the kitchen table of his home, and a four-year-old got a hold of the gun and shot the five-year-old in the head.

The boy was admitted to the hospital in critical condition on Sunday, but has since improved and is in stable condition in the pediatrics intensive care unit.

Police determined the shooting was accidental.
