LIBERTY, Mo. – A 76-year-old man will spend the next 15 years behind bars after repeated probation violations. Conrad Witte was initially sentenced to 15 years in prison only to be granted probation in 2005. Clay County Judge Janet L. Sutton said that the prosecutor’s office recently showed Witte had repeatedly violated the conditions of that reprieve.

“This is a very satisfying result. When Witte was initially sentenced to 15 years in prison then given probation in 2005, I was shocked. Evidently it was the opinion of the earlier court that Witte was ‘too old’ for prison. It appears Judge Sutton did not share that sentiment.” Daniel White, Clay County Prosecuting Attorney, said in a press release.

Witte had previously pleaded guilty to having oral sex with a three-year-old girl. He told officials that the toddler was a willing participant because she had unzipped his pants. Prosecutors didn’t accept that story and are satisfied that Witte will be punished after not completing treatment and admitting that he still fantasizes about toddlers.

In the release White said that age is not a barrier in regards to sex offenders and that Witte proves that notion.
