KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A metro man is going to prison for trying to rape a 71-year-old woman in her home.
Ramone Winters, 30, received two life sentences.
Jackson County prosecutors say the victim fell asleep in her living room in her apartment near 10th and Benton and woke a short time later to find Winters in her kitchen.
Winters had a previous conviction for the rape of a 77-year-old woman in 2000.
