SHAWNEE, Kan. — A 34-year-old man was pinned between two vehicles late Friday morning at Shawnee Mission Ford car dealership, 11501 Shawnee Mission Parkway, crushing his legs and leaving the man in critical condition.
The man, identified as Brian Lore of Olathe, had pulled his vehicle into the service area and was standing behind his car when another driver of a Ford F-150 truck pulled in behind him. Both were customers.
According to Maj. Dan Tennis, Shawnee Police Dept, the pickup driven by a 65-year-old woman, lurched forward, pinned Lore, and pushed his Chevy Trailblazer forward several feet.
“Somehow the car lunged forward, struck the man, pinched him between the two cars, crushed his legs and then pushed him about 6 and a half feet forward,” said Maj. Tennis.
No charges have been filed against the 65-year-old driver from Kansas City, Kan. The license plate on her truck indicated a disabled driver.
Once the traffic unit completes its investigation, officers will discuss with prosecutors whether charges should be filed against her.
Tennis said some of the employees tried to get the woman’s attention to get her to stop.
