KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Meet little Xiomara Cruz — the first baby born in 2013 at the University of Kansas hospital.
Cruz was born at 12:05 a.m. Tuesday and even a couple days early, new mom Vanessa Cruz said.
“I actually made a joke about it not that long ago… shooting for the first baby of the new year,” Cruz said.
Looks like she had her wish!
Xiomara weighed in a 6 pounds, 15 ounces and 20 inches long.
Mom and daughter are doing well, the hospital said.
Coincidentally, the last baby born in 2012 was delivered at 11:56 p.m. Monday at the hospital.
