EMPORIA, Kan. — An Emporia State student whose family reported her missing in late October has been found safe in Germany.

Emilee Irsik’s mother shared the good news with university officials on Thursday.

“We are so grateful to everyone who shared in our concern and who said a prayer,” said Sherry Irsik.

The 20-year-old left Wichita on Oct. 20 for a fall break trip to Germany. Irsik was scheduled to return home on Oct. 26 but never boarded her return flight home.

Irsik’s mother said her daughter is with authorities in Germany, and the family is working on being reunited with her.

Family members set-up a Facebook page to help find their daughter that already had 9,000 followers as of Thursday afternoon.
