JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — The Missouri House approved legislation that would reduce the amount of pseudoephedrine that people could buy each month. The cold medicine can be used to make meth.
Currently, Missouri caps individual purchases of medicines containing pseudoephedrine at nine grams every 30 days. That’s about 300 pills a month.
The first-round approval would reduce that to 7.5 grams, roughly 250 pills per month.
It also requires people with felony drug convictions to get a prescription for it.
